I honestly don't know what I (or the rest of the neighbourhood) would do without Magnet. Almost very part, piece or tool -- no matter how elusive -- can be found here on the towering shelves. You might need to ask for help to find your item (this place is packed with stuff!), but the folks who work here will always make sure that you find it and that you get all of the help and advice that you need. The service is so good and the staff is so friendly that you feel like you've stepped back in time. And the prices are usually better than the bland big box behemoth -- often MUCH better. A trip to that other place is a chore. A trip to Magnet is a pleasure. This store is a local institution for a reason. Thanks to Dave, Charlie and all the staff (now - and over the years). And thanks to Ed for hiring the right people and running the right kind of store. On a weekly basis, this place reminds me why I love my neighbourhood.

I am really glad I stopped into the Home Hardware location on Commercial Drive and had the pleasure of being helped by Ingo. He was very helpful, informative, knowledgeable and interested in helping me figure out what products would be best to resolve my, in home, ant problem. Thank you once again Ingo.

I looked everywhere online for a tube and clip for my toilet (which was missing it when i moved in?!) and as soon as i walked in, a guy helped me to the item which was in stock for a few bucks! I thought it was going to be too small but with some twisting it secured and now my toilet works like new. Thank you!

Great store. Fabulous and knowledgeable staff. Always willing to help with finding things in the aisles and suggestions for fixing things at home. A hardware store with service and stock of this caliber is rare. Throughout COVID they managed to safely continue their important contribution to the East Vancouver community. Before I think of driving to a big box - I think local. Magnet on The Drive. Dog Friendly, too! Excellent treats! 🐕‍🦺 🦴 Highly recommend!

Excellent selection for such a small store, but the fact that the staff are genuinely knowledgeable is the reason I keep coming back. Whether it's unusual batteries, fiddly Allen keys, or finding the right plant food for your garden, these folks really know their stuff.

I have always had great service at magnet hardware. They are wonderful always so very helpful! Dave rewired my crystal lamp and went over and above what I had asked for. I asked for help to buy the right replacement cords! I didn’t expect him to actually fix my lamp, he even adding a tri- light to fixture to it! Absolutely, unbelievable service❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I stopped by Magnet Hardware when I needed a few supplies for a small home project and ended up genuinely impressed with the whole experience. The store feels like a neighbourhood tool hub where you can actually find what you’re looking for without wandering aimlessly. Everything from nuts and bolts to paint brushes and garden supplies is easy to spot, and the shelving is tidy and well-organized.
